Is there any update on a viable replacement solution for ZipCodeShop? I am setting up a directory site using Community Builder, and I want people from my "User B" group to be able to search for people in my "User A" group based on zip code radius and several other factors.

Amazon sucks. I don't stay in the US. When I make orders, amazon tells me the books take 7 to 21 days to ship. One month later, the books still have not been shipped. When I email them, they tell me to wait for another 2 weeks. Two weeks later, when I email them, the reply is often, 'sorry the book is no longer available'. I've emailed Jeff (his email can be found in 21 Dogs Years in Amazon). He has his people email me. They tell me they've looked at the problem. But there is nothing they can do.
Why should I support an organization, that for all the wonderful reviews is just incompetent and arrogant.

At the beginning of code, don't forget to put this line

$app = &JFactory::getApplication();

the code will not function without it at the beginning.

Amazon sucks. I have tried to order an item 3 times and all I get is an email that says my card that expires in 2004 won't go through. I don't have a credit card on file with them that expires in 2004. Are these slobs just lazy or do they get off by sending customers to other sites? What a bunch of loosers. I say boycott the slobs. They act like fat cats, so we should stop feeding them.

Be careful of the owners of ZIpCodeShop. They have a history of setting up businesses and scamming people out of money. That is how they make their living. They have numerous lawsuits against them for this very reason.

Wow, crazy I run up on this thread. I find myself in an almost similar position. I managed to dodge the bullet for ZipCodeShop but was kind of hit with Sams instead and still waiting to see if he is pulling a ZCS part II or what. BUT I have worked with fabrik long time ago, it was a bit ... hairy is the nice way to put it, I built a simple app with it and only killed it years later when I updated to php5.3

But using fabrik to do the reads on mosets and localize what is displayed based on geo-location data might just resolve my issue.

For those looking into Sam's Moxie Maps I have this much to say. Nothing against Sam either, his stuff is totally open but his support is Zip.

I paid for a guaranteed install *GI* but have gotten it working all on my own and just hoping I can get the difference between the DIY price and the *GI* price refunded back to us since he delivered a MIA instead of a *GI*

Crap, now to go look up fabrik again, wonder how much that has changed project wise... Don't know if I should be petrified or excited by this.
Still scared from my last run-in with Fabrik honestly.

I thought I would churn in on this one. You guys think you got took, how about I paid them over 3000.00 for customizations of their products. For 6 months I called, emailed, text everything I could just to get a screen shot of the customizations that were being made. In the end I gave them 2 weeks to provide me with the final code and I got Nothing. Fortuanetly I used a business credit card and all charges were reversed.

Their excuse for my project being delayed "we got a huge State Department project with over a 1,000,000 tables and it has taken up our resources.

Ive made the switch from CB to JomSocial, their are several free "Radius" modules that are outstanding and fully customizable. Go through their extensions, the component is by far better and more stable than CB.
